When hydrated, your body is better able to break down fat, your appetite is better controlled and your energy is on point. Staying hydrated during the winter months is just as crucial as on hot days, especially if you want to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
There are plenty of reasons to increase your daily water intake and not only does water help you stay hydrated, but it also helps regulate your body temperature. The amount of water you should drink on a daily basis depends on your weight and overall level of physical activity of course, but drinking at least 2L (or 4 EQUA bottles) per day would be a great start! We’ve got some tips on how to stay properly hydrated in winter too.
1. Eat your fluids
Fruits and veggies are packed with water and they can help you reach your daily intake goals. Broccoli, strawberries, and celery are all great sources of water. Moreover, here is our idea for a yummy and refreshing smoothie, that’ll make you hydrated.
2. Warm-up with warm beverages
Warming up with a hot green tea or even hot water with a lemon sounds like a great option for cold winter days. These two hot beverages will keep you cozy on a chilly winter day. Did you know and EQUA bottle is perfect for tea as well?
3. Drink the right things at the right time
When you’re trying to drink enough water, it’s just as important to know what to drink, not only how often. Both caffeine and alcohol can make your body even more dehydrated, so water, infused waters, smoothies, or teas would be the option to choose. Also, the timing is important, so drink a glass of water before each meal and make it a habit. Hint: It may help you to eat less as well ;)
4. Go decaf afternoon
Coffee is great and it’s a must for us too, but it can be dehydrating. If you need a post-lunch boost we suggest these 2 options:
